Hills Waste Solutions' Driver Training Programme produces 3 new LGV drivers!

We would like to congratulate our three newest LGV drivers, who have all recently passed their licencing through one of our rigorous training programmes.

As a result of passing their training our three drivers have each now moved onto a new pay grade and taken charge of a £250,000 truck to make sure that we provide great service to our customers.

As a caring employer, its great to see our employees fulfil their potential, and we encourage all our employees to progress

by providing a broad range of training and development opportunities, at all levels within the business.

Our training scheme was developed as a result of the pandemic which affected all businesses, including ours. We were faced with driver shortages and had to identify ways of dealing with the situation to

ensure that our customers continued to be provided with a high level of service during a very challenging period.

With the help of a leading provider of transport training and driver development, we developed our “Loader to Driver” Scheme to encourage members of our operational team to take on more responsibility, improve their skills and give them the opportunity to earn more. Although born from a crisis our scheme is now embedded in our training programme as a result of its success.

We are delighted that Andy, Chris and Nick were successful, and we look forward to encouraging the next intake of employees to start on their journey with our Loader to Driver Scheme.

Our Operations Manager Neil Luce said: “At the core of our values is a belief that our team is our strongest asset and we take personal development seriously by providing training programmes to actively encourage our employees to develop their skills at all levels”
