Simplifying Simpler Recycling
With Simpler Recycling legislation now in place for most businesses (and set to apply to micro-firms with less than 10 employees by 2027), there are strict rules around how your waste should be handled. Dry mixed recycling (DMR), food and glass waste need to be separated from general waste and placed into the right waste bins.
We can handle your Simpler Recycling. Simply select the waste you need us to collect when getting an online quote.

Frequently asked questions
-
How to get a glass recycling bin for my business
When you sign up for our commercial glass recycling service, we deliver a glass recycling bin to your business. Once delivered, you can begin putting all your glass recycling into your bins - lids, labels and tops included. We’ll separate colours at our facility and continue to review your service to ensure it’s best suited for your needs.
-
Where should I store my glass recycling bin?
Your glass recycling bins should be kept in a convenient location accessible to our drivers. Please keep your bins in a consistent location to make finding them as straightforward as possible. The smaller 40L bin can be stored inside when not required for collection.
-
Which glass cannot be recycled?
Heat-treated glass, such as Pyrex, ovenware products, ceramics, flat glass sheets and window panes and drinking glasses generally cannot be recycled. We can still work with you to dispose of these glass items in an efficient, safe and environmentally conscious way.
-
Can you put broken glass in recycling?
No, we do not generally accept broken glass. While glass will be crushed for recycling, please consider the safety of waste collectors and package your broken glass separately or ensure it’s clearly labelled. Broken glass should be safely wrapped up and placed in general waste.
For more information about what can and can’t be collected, see our waste classification guide.

Why is it important to recycle glass?
Glass is one of the most versatile and commonly used materials. Glass is an ideal storage solution and regularly utilised in commercial settings for everything from food and beverages to decorative pieces. Unlike other storage types, glass is infinitely recyclable, meaning it can be reused endlessly without sacrificing quality.
