These targets include reusing, recycling and composting at least 60 percent of municipal waste the council handles by 2030 and reviewing the potential to collect more plastic waste. In 2022, the council implemented separate weekly food waste collections. This residential food waste is composted and turned into a PAS100 certified soil conditioner which is made available for local farmers and landscapers to purchase.
