Wiltshire Council contract update
Following Wiltshire Council’s review of waste and contract services, Hills Waste Solutions is pleased that recommendations will be made at the Council Cabinet meeting on 09 December to award contract extensions for the Composting of Garden Waste, the operation of two Waste Transfer Stations and the Disposal of Non-Recyclable Waste.
The Council is also recommending that Kerbside Waste and Recycling Collection and Material Recovery Facility services will transfer to new public-to-public LATCO partnerships from 01 August 2026.
The Hills Group Chief Executive Ed Dodd commented: “We are justifiably very proud of the waste and recycling services we have provided Wiltshire Council since signing the first waste contract back in 1996. We welcome news of the contract extensions for Composting, Waste Transfer Stations and Non-Recyclable Waste disposal. We are however disappointed that a recommendation has not been made to renew our Kerbside Waste Collection and Material Recovery Facility (MRF) contracts – given the high-quality service our employees have provided to Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire’s residents over the contract period. We look forward to receiving an update from Wiltshire Council following the Cabinet meeting on 09 December, and we will work closely with officers at the Council and the two new LATCO partners to ensure a smooth transition of the services.”
